a beautiful, yet poignant short.
Waking Up by Danielle Shami and Shimi Cohen
Official Synopsis:-

"A short movie made by Danielle Shami and myself. We hope it will make all of us wake up and realize what needs to be done. In light of the latest expressions made by many in the Israeli government and in honour of all of those who keep fighting for equal rights, we hope this movie will make another bit of change."

Shimi Cohen.

Dave Says:-

Seldom do I review gay films as short, as this short film is. But this one is so beautiful and yet equally so poignant, that it deserves as wide an audience as possible. Only to say more would be a spoiler, as too would be a translation of the closing Hebrew text, at least at this stage. Rather check it out below; it's meaning is all but obvious and sadly in terms of all too many countries.

Gay Visibility - overt.
Nudity - strictly from the waist up.
Overall - file under ... 3+ stars.
starring: Shmul Simchony and Gil Abir Cavalero.
original music by Shim Edri.
the closing Hebrew text reads:
"there are still dreams that are not legal to fulfil here,
how much longer should we dream?"
