a send-up of the "I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is" scenario.
Longhorns by David Lewis Taking you back to the early '80s, here Rock Haven / Redwoods writer and director David Lewis lets rip on the "I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is" scenario, along the way playing it for all of its comical worth.

Only don't go telling college boy Kevin that he's gay. A closet case not even aware that he's in the closet, this is a man who doesn't think twice about giving his Lone Star state frat buddy Justin some hand relief during a Cindy Does SINcinatti porno night in; after all, straight guys do this kind of stuff to each other all the time. Well, don't they? Not that out and proud campus cutie César thinks so, having seen through his hetero guise, when a spot of nude modelling saw Kevin drop his guard and in more ways than one. Sensing that his "friendship" with César is starting to become a bit too serious for his manly liking, Kevin rapidly jumps ship for the rural cabin comfort of his best friend Steve, who seemingly in short supply of clothes most of the time, doesn't mind Kevin going down on him in the middle of the night; after all, it's just boys being boys. Or is it? For just how much longer can this all out "hetero" keep on deluding his sexual self?

Longhorns by David Lewis Not since Naked Boys Singing! have so many members of the principal cast been exposed. Only behind all of the full frontal nudity and comical setups, Lewis can be found weaving the heart-warming story of to thy ownself, being true. It is a tale that he relishes in, playing on the '80s Texan theme at every opportunity; be it the clothes, the music, let alone a truck load of Southern fried one-liners, even if the locations are all California based.

Laced with in-titles and Kevin styled voiceovers from Jacob Newton, coupled with the odd split-screen or two, the beauty of Lewis' work is that it never pretends to be what it's not and this laugh out loud comedy tailored for the boys, is no exception. That one and all of the "older than their characters" cast, including Dylan Vox of Dante's Cove, The Lair and "Brad Benton" fame revel in the "ride 'em cowboy" fun of the piece, finds Lewis and in a refreshing change of cinematic direction, send-up the whole Texan macho male image, whilst laying a subplot of good old fashioned love. Sexy, funny and romantic; hey, what's not to like?
