Long before the days when Glenn Gaylord brought his special charms to Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat, he could be found behind the camera writing and directing this delectable short. It tells the story of the BoyChick of the title, a closeted American teen into the music of his pop idol Ashley Hart, that is when he’s not lusting after the local high school hunk, namely a cutie who clearly is never going to give him the time of day. Or is he? Given in BoyChick's dreams, Ashley has a way of showing him the moves to make on his man. You know, some films don’t arrive with a message attached to them, being simply there to entertain you and this is a perfect example of a gay short that's ... well, just fun to watch. Sure it plays heavily on its Britney Spears inspired theme for comic effect, just as it adds an over-accepting mother into its hilarious mix. But with a cool dance number included, together with a teacher who knows just what’s on our boys’ mind, this gay take on Baby One More Time is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
