an old fashioned love story of boy meets boy.

Some films are produced to make a point and in the Gay World, we certainly have many points to rightly make. Other works however are made solely to entertain you. Yet in terms of gay features, well at least in terms of reviews, there appears to be all too many of the former and sadly, all too few of the latter. Thankfully here writer and director Tyler Reeves has gone out of his way to deliver an old fashioned love story of boy meets boy, one without a political message in sight.

For this is the story of closeted student David (Damian Joseph Quinn) who during a break from college returns to the family home, only to discover that his father (Jonathan Fahn) has not only hired a farm hand to help him with the seasonal crop, but has given him David's old room to stay. Still there's space enough for both of them and here you certainly won't find David complaining when the hired help turns out to be all-round cutie Brent (Cooper Stone); a man who may or may not be gay, given David's gaydar is in urgent need of retuning. Thankfully his best friend Emily (Lauren Elyse Buckley) is on hand to offer her ever worldly wise words of advice, as David contemplates coming out to his family and to his high school friend Steven, all the while being distracted by the man lying in the bed next to him. In short, just what's a boy to do?

And we all know the answer to that. As too does Reeves, given the story, including a number of minor subplots, are but cinematic foreplay to the closing scene where the two men finally get up close and personal with each other. Only if that feels like a spoiler, well it shouldn't, given this is a work that plays to its target audience, including a masturbation sequence that whilst kept strictly under wraps, is nonetheless overflowing with homoeroticism. And whilst there's some negatives in the mix, there's equally no denying that the cast play the narrative for all its worth, with Quinn's not so subtle eye movements wonderfully reflecting the sexual yearning of his heart. Indeed, in terms of light entertainment of the gay romantic kind, this simple scenario is oozing with charm, being bright and breezy throughout. Frankly, need more be said?
