Dave says:

Screened by Channel 4 in the UK as part of their celebration of the Iris Prize Best British Shorts series of short films, this well-played work from writer and director James Corley tells the story of David (Chin Nyenwe); namely a man who clearly hasn't moved on from a long term relationship that saw two men end up as friends, rather than lovers. Seemingly content to spend his days habitually on the sofa playing video games, that is when he's not looking at his neighbours through blinds that shield him from the outside world, all is set to change in his life upon the arrival of his ex Troy (Craig Stein); a man determined to see the return of the David he knew and force him onto the gay scene in search of a new Mr Right. Only is David prepared to open himself up to the wonders of a life beyond his PlayStation?

Beautifully played by the Nyenwe / Stein boys who between them achingly juxtapose the upbeat attitude to life of Troy with David's melancholy approach, this is a short that finds Corley pay careful attention to the preparations for a night out for a pair of gay boys and here cue clothes, style, let alone a spot of man grooming. And whilst we do not see the two arrive on the scene, it's enough to know that they're heading in the right direction, that of a life where you don't stay at home! Or have we forgotten what that was like? Say no more.
