Dave says:

There's something wonderfully engaging about this short film from writer and director Elin Övergaard.

It tells the story of best friends Love (David Arnesen) and Axel (Tom Ljungman) who on their way back home after partying the night away, take in a bridge eye view of the Stockholm sunrise, along the way letting their emotions do the talking, given it's all but clear from the onset that Love has the hots for his best friend, only for Axel to shy away from acknowledging his affection, knowing that to do so would beckon the response as to whether such feelings are unrequited, or not?

It's a simple scenario that's beautifully played out, with the Arnesen / Ljungman boys delivering a plethora of emotions, as the two young men habitually dance around the issue that's close to their heart, until that is love is all but forced out into the open.

Well shot throughout, with Övergaard edging the camera ever closer to the two, as the two themselves physically invade each other's personal space to the degree that in the end, only lovers would, this wondrous tale of best friends finally letting their hearts run free packs a considerable cinematic punch in its relative short time frame, having shown how difficult it can be, at times, to declare your affection to the person you love, and of the relief when you've had the courage to say it, like it is. Simply beautiful.
