There's some really nice touches in this short film from writer and director Lior Soroka, one that focuses on the close bond between Udi (Tom Chodorov), a young architect from Tel Aviv and his two-year-plus partner Nimrod (Asaf Peri); that is until a night out clubbing finds Nimrod flirting with a part-time life model by the name of Or (Or Asher). Furious with his boyfriend at first and initially hesitant to go along with his proposal to have a threesome, Udi reluctantly agrees, with all three getting to know each other over dinner, before becoming three in the middle of the night. Only what happens when the man of your dreams begins to yearn to be in the company of - the other man?
Complete with the haunting closing song Let It Rain by Tzvika Force, this beautifully executed work is but a cautionary tale on the repercussions of a threesome. For it's the consequences for all parties that the narrative plays with, as Udi begins to question his relationship with Nimrod, leaving the man himself wondering if the special bond he shared with his lover has been forever lost?
Well-played from start to finish, even if the sex scene pivotal to this work is more of the sensuous nature, than sexually hot, here there's no question that Udi and Nimrod are a loving couple, thanks largely to the on-screen chemistry between Chodorov and Peri who play their roles to a cinematic tee. Yet at heart they know that having invited a third party into their stable relationship, things between them will never be the same again, in this poignant exploration of love, longing and regret. A telling work; indeed.
