Official Synopsis: Set on the first day of summer, Brian sleeps over at Jake's house, as they have done countless times before. This night, however, the two encounter unfamiliar desires that illuminate a new side of themselves. Dave says: There's a lush playfulness to this short film from writer and director Eyal Resh that wonderfully captures the carefree days of youth, as two teenage boys run through sprinklers in the front garden on a hot summer day, whilst alternatively making prank 'phone calls, that is when not trying to play the guitar, as if they were the stars of the latest talent show contest. Yet as the evening turns to night, a routine sleepover reveals a side to their sexuality, as hitherto unseen. Whilst there's more than just two players in this short, in many ways this could be viewed as a two-man or rather two-teen play, as the narrative focuses on the close friendship between Wyatt Griswold as Brian and Pearce Joza as Jake. And here Resh lets the young actors tell the story, the camera used almost fly-on-the-wall fashion to capture their very emotions at the pivotal moment when they come to explore their sexual identity. Both Griswold and Joza are wonderfully realistic as the best friends of the piece, completely holding your attention are we start to witness their coming-of-age story.
