Dani; a young boy shares a close friendship with his best friend Jaime, only for Dani to realize that his feelings for Jaime are more than just platonic.

Released in 2013, this delectably sweet short tells the story of gay teen Dani; an aspiring artist and talented swimmer, only for his heart to lie in other areas, namely in the direction of his swimming teammate Jaime. Openly gay on the home front, well at least out to his sister Carla, it's at her suggestion that he considers letting the object of his affection know how he feels. Only when Dani seizes the opportunity to plant a tender kiss on a surprised Jaime, is it the end of their friendship, or the start of something far more meaningful?

Written by Álex Beltrán, this take on a gay teenager's first crush is played with all of the charm fitting of the theme, even if it's all but a variant on the perennial falling in love with your straight(?) best friend scenario. That said, its beautifully delivered, complete with underwater cinematography and lush natural performances throughout, making for an endearing short story about love and whether or not the one you've fallen for feels the same way about you?
