a film by Benedict Campbell.

2008 | 16 mins | US.

starring: Aaron Michael Davies / Taylor, Carina Goldbach / Alex and Brian Dare as Jesse.

Official Synopsis: "Young Alex has a crush on her brother's friend Jesse. But Jesse likes Alex's brother Taylor. Alex knows something is up with her brother. He's in a strange place, as he takes Alex and Jesse to his favourite spot."

Dave says:-

Selected as part of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, this achingly natural short beautifully charts the close bond between two friends, one clearly out to the world, only for the object of his affection to be in a sexual mess, with Taylor having previously walked the straight path in life, only to now find himself at the crossroads of his sexuality.

Complete with some lush outdoor scenics and aided by a delectable turn from Carina Goldbach as the little sister wise beyond her years, this is also a work that finds writer and director Benedict Campbell playing the love triangle card; albeit from a teenage crush angle, given Alex's liking for her brother's best friend, only for Jesse to be more interested in Taylor than perhaps what the man himself would prefer. All of which results with the sound of silence on the drive home, as all three contemplate their journey in life.

Best friends and perhaps more? in Lloyd Neck.

As for the journey of our boys, career wise; well Brian Dare cast here as amateur photographer Jesse has recently completed work on the Sean Willis short film Eden, namely the story of gay lovers Adam and Everett and their plight to escape from an institution determined to cure them of their homosexuality, whilst Aaron Michael Davies as Taylor notably went on to feature is such works as Casper Andreas' Between Love & Goodbye, the film that is Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild and the short Astoria, Queens, to name but three. Catch them both, in this earlier outing.
